Early Intervention Programs

Prevention is better than cure!

Our Early Intervention Programs aim to prevent injuries before they occur.

It is well known that overuse type injuries occur over time. The time taken for these types of injuries to manifest could range from 3 – 12 months before the person actually develops clinical signs or even pain.

Once these Injuries have developed and actual tissue damage has occurred then begins the long recovery progress which usually involves relative rest, medications and Physiotherapy.

Our Early Intervention Programs are aimed at identifying who is at risk of developing an injury through a screening process, assessing for clinical lead signs of an injury, and then providing specific interventions to those who need it most.

Our Early Intervention Model allows our Physiotherapist to:

  • Attend the workplace.
  • Review where the incident occurred to gauge whether in fact the injury was work related.
  • Perform a clinical assessment of the injured worker to confirm the medical diagnosis.
  • Develop and review the RTW plan with the RTW coordinator.
  • Liaise with the NTD and/or treatment provider to provide advice on the physical demands of the return to work requirements and ascertain predicted timeframes for recovery.

Referral Criteria:

  • 0 – 4 weeks post date of injury.
  • Physiotherapy must be indicated on the certificate of capacities management plan.
